This weeks Cuttlebug blog Inspiration

I work with 8 moms so I decided to make them all a "name magnet" for their lockers for mothers day! They were all excited when I gave them their mothers day gifts. I tied the magnets loosly and some peanut m-n-ms with ribbon... {{who knew peanut m-n-ms are alot of moms favorite}} I thought it turned out to be a cute and inexpensive gift.
Sorry the pictures aren't that great...
I forgot to take some b4 I gave them.
So these are quick shots at work.

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges:  George (scalloped base), Alphalicious (monogram)
Cuttlebug embossing folders: spots and dots, bloom dots, d'vine swirls, swiss dots, decorative squares #3
Paper: Bazzill canvas/bling/basic
Ink: color box (brown, green, purple)
Prima flowers, offray ribbon, stickles, baby buttons from stash

Bug Off!

Garden season is upon us! My DH has started all the veggies in pots around the house and getting anxious to plant! Yesterday he dug up all the flowers and moved them around. I on the other hand did my project inside! This will be hanging in my flower bed this summer! After about 15 coats of modge podge... and a ton of water proof... outdoor sealant! (you know... the kind you put on your fence or deck) So... I have a ton of pics of this project... Hope you like it!

I sure hope I can get this little darlin to seal up tight so the rain doesn't ruin it! What do you guys think? Does it need something else?

Spots and Dots (bug off !)
Paper:  My Minds Eye- Tres Jolie (background), Bazzill- glazed- polka dots (dress front), Bazzill- canvas(grass, flowers shadow, fence, all basic colors), Heather Bailey (yellow dress, bug off !), K&Co - dollhouse peach paisley (front flowers)

My very first Stickles (glitterfly), googlie eyes, pastel flower brads (I don't remember which brand... but I am sure I got them at CrazyScraps)
Another little tidbit of information.... I have seen a product called "diamond glaze" (which is like a "clear coat" you can make water actually look like glass) floating around blogs... I cannot find it in stores so you have to order it online I guess? Anywayz... while searching for this product I decided to try Clear Gel Tacky Glue by Aleene's to see if I could get the same effects. And... It works... however it does leave tiny bubbles... I am going to try this effect on another project... but this is my first attempt...
I think that wraps it up everyone! Enjoy your week... and Scrap Crazy!

Flower Power Inspiration

This month over at the Cuttlebug Blog the theme is FLOWER POWER! I love this... you can create basically anything with flowers! Here is my project for this week....

I love love love how this turned out! My BFF had her baby on April first... and traditionally you get flowers for the mom... well here are her flowers! Click on pics to see the patterns on the flowers.
Recipe:
I used my Cricut Design Studio to cut all the flowers so I could see how big they were... therefore I really don't know the actual sizes... (sorry) I will guess that the big daisy is 6x6 and sunflower close to that.

Cricut Carts used: Walk in my garden (all flowers), Hello Kitty Font and Alphalicious (its a boy)

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders used: Argyle (lg daisy), Swiss Dots (center sunflower), D'vine Swirl (sm daisy), Spots and Dots (little red flowers), Textile (little yellow flowers)

Paper: basic bazzill card stock: yellow, blue, green, brown, purple: Bazzill Bling: red

Ribbon: Offray: yellow, green, blue....technique.... I wrapped the ribbon around wooden dowls... sprayed them with spray starch... and put them in the oven on 200 degrees for approx. 15 min... Voila! Curly q's... however... they were not "stiff" so I had to use floral wire (spiraled the same as the ribbon) and glue the ribbon on the wire...

I used an old vase I had at home and bought some decorative accents gems to put in the vase. I glued all the flowers and stems to "kabob" sticks I had in the pantry left over from last years bbq season.

(close up of cranberrys)
When I started this project I went through all my carts trying to get the best "cranberry" branch. This is the one I thought worked the best. And I finally started using my Cricut Design Studio. This is actually my first project using it. So lets get down to the recipe!
Cricut Cartridges = Home Decor (branches), Doodlecharms (cranberrys), George and Basic Shapes (stars), Hello Kitty font (kelsey), Jasmine(home, story, our), Alphalicious (is, where, begins)
Cricut Design Studio = weld the letters together
Paper = Sassafras lass (background), dk brown(branches), dk maroon(cranberrys), black (letters), golden (stars)
Ink = Ink it up- brown (stars, cranberrys, branches)
White colored pencil (cranberrys)
The board was bought at Lowes and is 5.5 X 24. I cut the background paper slightly bigger than the board.
Well I hope to have inspired. Don't forget to leave some love! Enjoy!
